The Barber National Institute gives the following descriptive information:

The Barber National Institute is committed to its mission of providing the highest quality services for children and adults with intellectual disabilities or behavioral health challenges and their families. Since our founding in 1952, we have evolved into a multi-faceted organization serving more than 4,300 individuals annually with a wide range of educational, vocational, residential and behavioral health programs.

Today, the Barber National Institute offers a range of services that includes early intervention for infants and toddlers, an inclusive preschool, an Autism Center offering diagnosis and treatment, an approved private school, job training and placement, residential options including community group homes, Lifesharing and supported living programs, in-home services, specialized therapies and behavioral health supports.

Our organization also provides education and training to educators and professionals around the world.

In addition to our main campus in Erie, PA, we also provide services in Warren, Forest and Crawford Counties, and in the Philadelphia and Pittsburgh regions.
