About

Welcome to Broad Street Review— an arts and culture website for Philadelphians with strong opinions.
Plus: Media comments about Broad Street Review, and biographies of our contributors.

Broad Street Review is an arts and culture commentary website edited by the veteran journalist and author Dan Rottenberg. It’s an experimental Internet forum where interested and knowledgeable people can engage their minds in sophisticated discourse about the arts with a gleefully idiosyncratic editor. It functions not to promote a point of view but to promote the exchange of viewpoints.

History

Since its launch in December 2005, Broad Street Review posts fresh commentaries twice weekly by commentators in such fields as theater, classical music, new music, art, dance and opera. Editor Dan Rottenberg also contributes his “Editor’s Notebook” column. Readers’ responses are posted twice a week to provoke a lively ongoing dialogue. Past contributions are stored in the website’s archive, where they remain instantly accessible.

There is a cirtical shortage of informative articles like this.
