Girls Incorporated of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to inspire and empower all girls to be strong, smart and bold. We achieve this mission by addressing the unique needs of girls through outreach programming, advocacy, and education, including the development of mentoring relationships.
Girls Inc. programs for girls ages 6 - 18 focus on leadership and community service; science, technology and math; financial literacy; early reading literacy; sports; culture and heritage; promoting healthy lifestyles and decision making; and media literacy.
We have been working to empower girls in the Philadelphia region since 1961, originally as Teen Aid, Inc. and in 2002 we affiliated with Girls Inc. Over 2,000 girls participate in our programs annually.
