The Rail Park under construction.

Friends of the Rail Park gives the following descriptive information:

Our plans for the Rail Park start with Phase 1, and construction is already underway. This greenway will serve all Philadelphians and visitors from around the region and world--with open space and engaging programs on arts, education, culture, health, and wellness.

The Rail Park has three sections: the Viaduct, the Cut, and the Tunnel. We have big plans for all three. But you have to start somewhere, so we’re starting right at Broad Street, with a section we’re calling Phase One. The plans are drawn and the funds are being raised. Ground breaking began and is scheduled to conclude in late 2018.
