The Philadelphia Food Policy Advisory Council gives the following descriptive information:

FPAC was created by Executive Order to help guide the City of Philadelphia’s food system planning by providing policy recommendations for the City. FPAC helps the City of Philadelphia be a more responsible partner in the regional food system through an advisory role.

Food Policy Councils bring together a diverse group of stakeholders from the local food system. Food system stakeholders represent a wide range of food and health related activities, from farming and gardening to anti-hunger advocates. These stakeholders collaborate to advocate and develop policy recommendations.
