OUR GUIDING PRINCIPLES

The mission of Rebuilding Together Philadelphia is to bring volunteers and communities together to improve the homes and lives of low-income homeowners.

RTP plays a significant role in neighborhood revitalization. Making essential repairs not only helps the homeowner raise his or her quality of life, but also by preserving affordable homeownership, it sets off a positive ripple effect. Homeowners of all ages stabilize neighborhoods.

Home Repairs

Rebuilding Together Philadelphia offers free home repairs, accessibility modifications and energy-efficient upgrades to make homes safer and healthier. RTP works with organized blocks to bring volunteers and communities together to improve the homes and lives of low-income homeowners.

Community organizations are essential to connecting RTP to homeowners in need, providing RTP with neighborhood facilities to assist in the smooth execution of repair projects, and augmenting services to RTP homeowners. RTP's volunteers also make significant physical improvements for a small number of community organizations each year.

The U.S. census indicates that there are more than 50,000 low-income homeowners in Philadelphia. Many live in homes that were built more than 70 years ago. Simple repair problems (left unattended due to lack of resources) escalate into larger problems that expose homeowners and their families to health and safety risks.

Eligibility

RTP works with organized blocks that have at least 10 homeowners who all need repairs. Rebuilding Together Philadelphia no longer accepts applications for the repair of individual homes. See this link for details.
