I like these search properties you have mentioned, Stan. It's better to see such changes in Recent Changes, which is where I'm most frequently looking anyway, because I'm checking the latest work on entry and category pages. Recent Changes is where I'm already looking, so I can follow a conversation better if that's where Talk pages do their notifying.

I ran a search on a distinct word in a talk page (aka "discussion" page)

It appears that a search on a word in a talk page does not bring that page up in the search.

On the other hand, a change in a talk page does show up in "recent changes."

This is interesting because we, as editors, can find changes to talk pages by looking at recent changes. But users searching on a word that may have been included in a talk page won't be bothered with a pointer to the talk page.

That's not to say that users won't be able to see words on a talk page. But the ordinary user will not be pointed to a comment in a talk page when performing a normal search. Stan 13:19, 30 March 2016 (EDT)
