Since 2000, we’ve made it our mission to help hourly workers find jobs they love--and help hourly employers find the best people for their jobs. Our passion has made us the number one hourly job site in the world. But it doesn’t stop there. We continually develop innovative tools to help hourly workers and employers simplify their jobs and start living their dreams.
That’s sort of our “thing”, and we’re beyond excited about it. We believe everyone reaps the benefits when that perfect employee-employer match occurs. == What is May First/People Link ==

MF/PL is an organization that redefines the concept of "Internet Hosting Service" in a collective, progressive and collaborative way.

May First/People Link is like a coop: as members, we pay dues, buy equipment and then we all use that equipment as we need to for websites, email, email lists, and just about everything else we do on the Internet.

At MF/PL members are encourage to use all the resources necessary to be successful - whether that's additional email addresses, web sites or other services: there are no pre-defined limits to what you can use. All you do is pay your dues. Dues are on a sliding scale, starting with $200 for an organization and $100 for an individual (90% of our members pay this level of dues). A small number of organizations pay more based on the cost of their additional resource usage.

MF/PL is comprised of both individuals and organizations and is directed by a Leadership Committee comprised of 15 MF/PL members who named a director to oversee operations day to day. The MF/PL "staff" is a group of members, most of whom donate their time to the organization.

At this point, MF/PL is one of the few organizations of its type in the world and one of the world's oldest and largest politically progressive Internet providers.
== Hosting ==

The primary benefit of May First/People Link membership is your access to reliable, state-of-art hosting infrastructure built from the bottom up on free and open source software and maintained based on our statement of political unity. As an activist, mission-based project, our primary concern is not profit, but instead the stability, security, reliability and future of our movement's Internet infrastructure.

Our network consists of about 100 virtual servers in five different geographic locations. Most services are concentrated in two professional colocation centers in New York City.
=== About ===

The Human Rights Coalition is a group of predominately prisoners' families, ex-prisoners and some supporters. Our ultimate goal is to abolish prisons. The prison system is based on a foundation of exploitation, punishment and corruption. Most of the people in prisons are poor, brown, urban, functionally illiterate, unemployed or under-employed before they were locked down, and are there for non-violent crimes. The prison system reflects all inequalities in our society, and it does not work in its current incarnation.

Our goal is to empower prisoners' families to be leaders in prison organizing, while at the same time reduce the shame of having a loved one in prison or being formerly incarcerated. Our goal is to make visible to the public the injustice and abuse that are common practice throughout our judicial and prison systems across the country, and eventually end those abuses.

We also work to encourage the rehabilitation of prisoners. HRC understands that prisoners are human beings with problems that need to be addressed. Many prisoners have led horrendous lives of drug abuse, child abuse, or neglect, in addition to impacts of racism, sexism, classism and homophobia. We as citizens should demand that the prison system focus on the rehabilitation of prisoners so that they can return to society as productive citizens with the skills needed to take care of their families.
=== Workforce Training & Placement Support ===

The greatest means of support that CTS provided for Mr. L was in providing him a safe place to process his feelings resulting from the sudden changes that had taken place in his life and the ramifications of those changes. Mr. L is a well-educated veteran with no previous criminal history. His shame about his conviction provided more of a barrier to employment than his actual conviction. Once Mr. L regained his confidence to successfully re-enter society and to regain his position as the head of his family, he set out on his job search with a determination to succeed. And succeed he did. Mr. L had an extensive employment history in warehouse management and has become gainfully employed fulltime as a Warehouse Manager for a rate of $26.44 per hour. This position is comparable to the position that he lost as a result of his incarceration, but at an even greater salary than before.
