About the Valentine Foundation

The Valentine Foundation is a Philadelphia-area grantmaking organization that, for over 20 years, has been providing charitable funds to organizations and programs which result in the empowerment of women and girls. The Foundation is committed to funding programs and organizations that effect fundamental social change: changing those systemic attitudes, practices and policies that prevent women and girls from realizing their full potential.

Starting with the 2009 grant cycle, the Trustees of the Foundation have revised their grantmaking strategies. Henceforth, grants will be evaluated on their adherence to the “Social Change Indicators” outlined by the Women’s Funding Network. For complete information on our grantmaking, go to the “Grantmaking” section of our Web site; for more information on the Social Change Indicators click here.

Valentine Foundation grants are made to tax-exempt organizations, primarily those serving the Greater Philadelphia area or that have a national focus. The Valentine Foundation is a member of the Delaware Valley Grantmakers, Women's Funding Network, and the Association of Small Foundations.
