 Recently I lost access to my Gmail account. I had to seek help from Google to regain access. I jumped through their hoops, and then came to their final requirement: the month and year that I opened the account. Luckily, I did have that information, and I was able to access my email account. 

This is just a heads up. Be sure you know when you opened your Gmail account in case it is compromised or you lose access for any reason.
