Social Services in Southwest Philly Serving African and Caribbean Immigrants

The African Cultural Alliance of North America Inc. (ACANA) is a non-profit agency founded on a mission to provide culturally sensitive social services, arts and cultural programs, legal services, community engagement and development programs and other services to African and Caribbean immigrants in the United States.

  • ACANA’s objectives are to not only assist new residents in their adjustment and resettlement, but to help them become active participants in their new environments.
  • In doing so, ACANA strongly believes in working with people of all backgrounds to build a better community.
  • Our moto of “bridging the gap” represents ACANA’s continuous effort to serve as a connector between the various cultures, ethnic groups, religions and peoples of the African diaspora.
