Our mission is to build unity in diversity, support learning, and inspire thoughtful action. Hospitality, solidarity, responsiveness, and transformation are the four core values that animate and advance this mission.

We extend hospitality by:

  • Creating a welcoming space.
  • Offering a seat at the table and sharing meals together.
  • Emphasizing inclusiveness and kinship.
  • Inviting people to use their gifts and talents to foster community.

We practice responsiveness by:

  • Actively listening.
  • Developing programs that are initiated by community.
  • Engaging in dialogue for understanding.
  • Advocating for the most vulnerable.
  • Equipping leaders with training and tools to seek change.

We practice solidarity by:

  • Standing with those on the margins.
  • Respecting one another and recognizing our interdependence.
  • Caring for creation, our shared home.
  • Supporting local businesses, fair wages, and just working conditions.

We pursue transformation by:

  • Working side by side in shared labor, from washing dishes to painting murals.
  • Cultivating an awareness of God.
  • Exercising creative action that promotes beauty.
  • Advocating for legislative and regulatory change that prioritizes human dignity.
  • Conducting and communicating community based research in service of the common good.
