Roxborough is a Northwest Philadelphia neighborhood.

  • Roxborough is a neighborhood in Northwest Philadelphia, located above the Falls of the Schuylkill River, between the river and the Wissahickon Creek, directly north and northwest of Manayunk.

The neighborhood was reportedly named after the Wissahickon Hermit Cave, which was referred to as "Rocks burrow" by the followers of religious mystic Johannes Kelpius. Over time, the spelling of the neighborhood's name was Anglicized and became "Roxborough".
