ConnectHome is a HUD program that gives the following description:
ConnectHome is a platform for collaboration between local governments, public housing agencies, Internet service providers, philanthropic foundations, nonprofit organizations, and other relevant stakeholders that will produce local solutions for narrowing the digital divide.
Its pilot project began in 28 communities around the nation, including Philadelphia and Camden. An Inquirer story said it
will provide high-speed broadband Internet in more than 275,000 households, and improve online access for almost 200,000 children, according to the White House.
ConnectHome is aimed at closing the "homework gap" between students who can use the Internet at home and their less affluent peers.
