Be Alive

I believe that activism is being alive and responding to what is around us. If something needs doing – you do it. You pick up the piece of trash on the ground, you pick up the crying baby – you respond to what needs your attention.

It is the same with the world around us – the very complex world in which we live. But we don’t have to respond to the whole of the complexity – only to what is seeking our attention. And there is a lot that is needing attention.

Work Together ~ Not Alone (See links to Elder Activists Bios)

Because, and this is very important – we are all connected. As our great traditions teach we are all one. What we do to another we do to ourselves.

What we need is the collective will and action. Working together we can care for others, speak up to injustice, work to clean up our environment and make sensible laws that care for all beings – humans and otherwise.

Why Elders

  • We have the life experience, the wisdom, and the resources to create positive change
  • We know to speak up for what is right -- not what is most expedient
  • We have the "age-wave" -- and by working together we can create a thriving and just legacy for future generations.
  • Elders are already activists... out on the front lines of marches, and campaigns but now our tasks is inspiring and empowering more of us to "be the change we wish to see."
