The Feria del Barrio is an annual fair organized by the Taller Puertorriqueño. The 2015 event was set for Sunday, September 13, 2015 on N. 5th St. between Cambria and Lehigh.

The Feria gives the following description:

Feria is a collaboration between Taller Puertorriqueño (Taller), Congreso de Latinos Unidos (Congreso), HACE, Raíces Culturales Latinoamericanas (Raíces) and GALAEI.

Since 1979 La Feria del Barrio celebrates Latino culture, family, and the economic and educational aspirations of the people of North Philadelphia with:

  • Live Latin music and dancing,
  • Latino food delicacies
  • Art and crafts
  • Much, much more

FERIA has expanded opportunities for artists, promoted civic engagement, attracted new audiences and built new relationships with other arts and community organizations that have helped create an environment for improved economic and commercial activity. Since Feria del Barrio happens in the heart of Latino Philadelphia, at El Centro de Oro, the business and arts district, its economic benefits impact this corridor and community directly. The partners organizations keep Feria a family friendly destination with activities for children and entertainment for all ages.

For the last 30 FERIAs, the organizations involved raise the necessary funds from corporate sponsors, local businesses and vendors, and other organizations to produce the event. With the help of hundreds of volunteers FERIA organizers clean the streets, move tables, set up booths, etc., costing much less than other such festivals. We have developed respectful relationships to guarantee a safe and trouble-free event that benefits the local community and attract new visitors to the area from throughout the region. For FERIA to succeed it must rely on all our supporters. As a corporate sponsor or vendor, your business can capitalize and be part of the strength and pride that Latino arts and culture bring to create sustainable growth for the North Philadelphia community. In 2013, FERIA hosted over 10,000 guests; this year, we are expecting to see FERIA getting bigger by increasing its attendance by 20% including community residents, tourists and art enthusiasts.
