The First Person Arts Festival is an annual event organized by First Person Arts, which gives the following descriptive information about the event:

Each November in Philadelphia, life becomes art when internationally renowned artists and everyday people take to stages across the city to tell their real life stories. From storytelling, to food events, workshops, and more, the one-of-a-kind First Person Arts Festival is the perfect spot for a fun and entertaining time out with friends, and an arts experience worth telling your own stories about.

Our 14th Annual First Person Arts Festival took place Nov. 4-15, 2015 and featured celebrity musicians Bilal and Freeway, Philadelphia’s first Poet Laureate, Sonia Sanchez, popular podcast Welcome to Night Vale, and more. Past Festival artists also include Toni Morrison, Janeane Garofalo, Talib Kweli, Celebrity Chef Marcus Samuelsson, Angela Davis, and lead singer of Earth, Wind & Fire, Philip Bailey.
