Geekadelphia gives the following descriptive information:

Founded in 2007 by Eric Smith and Tim Quirino, Geekadelphia has established itself as Philly’s premier geek blog, primarily covering passionate topics such as film, comics, literature, video games and technology with a local focus. Since its inception, the site has accrued nearly 5 million hits, averaging over 2,000 hits daily. On social media, Geekadelphia broadcasts to thousands of engaged followers on Twitter and fans on Facebook.

Proving to be much more than just a website, Geekadelphia drew from previous experience with hosting large, public events such as media giveaways, film premieres, video game releases, art shows, parties and live performances and established the Philadelphia Geek Awards in 2011. In association with its co-host and partner, The Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University, Geekadelphia celebrates the community they’ve formed in the city of Brotherly Love every single year.
