HIAS Pennsylvania introduces itself with the line, "Welcoming the Stranger for over a century", and gives the following descriptive information:

From the pogroms of Eastern Europe and the unspeakable events of the Holocaust to the collapse of the Iron Curtain, HIAS Pennsylvania (Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society) was there to help resettle and integrate Jews into the United States.

Today, HIAS Pennsylvania continues to work to create a welcoming and secure environment for immigrants and their families from any ethnic, cultural, or religious background.
