John Thornton's Documentary Film about Philadelphia's (not yet) famous illistrator

On January 11th, I met for lunch in Wayne with members of an art class whose beloved teacher is named Joe Krush.

  • I had been invited by one of Joe’s students who had emailed me:
    • "My name is Linda Finkelstein. Liz Wilson gave me your email. I don't know if you would be interested or not, but I know a wonderful 98 year old artist, Joe Krush, who would be a great subject for a video."
  • It turns out that Joe and his late wife Beth are the legendary illustrators of such classic children’s books as The Borrowers and Gone Away Lake.

The above text introduces this marvelous heart filled portrait of a humble man.

*Everyone innterested in Philadelpha history, art, and great people should see this film.
