Since it costs money just to get in ($18 as of 2018), I wouldn't call this a festival in the usual sense. At almost every festival I've ever attended, you pay for food and rides and so forth, but not for admission. ~[[User:PaulSank|Paul]]

The Festival That Sets Franklin Square Aglow

The Philadelphia Chinese Lantern Festival in Franklin Square returns to Philadelphia’s Historic District with all-new, handcrafted lanterns that illuminate when the sun sets. Its truly a sight to see.

For more than five weeks, the park will glow with new (read: different every year) handcrafted lanterns constructed by lantern artisans from China.

Lantern designs in previous years have included sea creatures, lions, pandas and mythological creatures.

Note:  The above descriptive information came from Visit Philadelphia.
