Every Child Deserves to Read

We strive to eliminate children growing up without books in their homes.

Reading Recycled gives new and gently used books to families, shelters, schools, laundromats and pantries--any place a child may want to read.

  • Sidewalk Libraries: Our Sidewalk Libraries create public spaces for children to fall in love with reading. Each Sidewalk Library has been given to the community to ensure that all the children have access to books. These libraries are kept stocked by Reading Recycled and community members. Feel free to grab a book if you walk by one! Applications for Sidewalk Libraries will be available soon.
  • The Book Bank: The Book Bank is a resource for educators and organizations who serve our city’s children and youth within daycare, preschool, public, private, charter, parochial, religious, and after-school classrooms.
  • Community Corner: We support various community organizations throughout the city to add literacy elements into their existing programs and events.

Note:  The above descriptive information came from the organization's home page and its Programs page.
