The State of Black Science Fiction's primary mission is the economic development and support of Black Speculative Fiction.

  • It is a collective of authors, artists, comic book creators and filmmakers who create works of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror by, for and / or about people of African descent and for fans and supporters of our work.
  • This collective, formed in February, 2012, has hosted and participated in events worldwide; produce high quality works of fiction and film; and are the founders of Black Speculative Fiction Month, an international holiday that takes place every October.
  • Engage in discussions with other members, enjoy artwork, short fiction, short films and articles and post your related Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror stuff, too!
