Volunteering in Philadelphia is one form of activism.
A local "umbrella" organization for recruiting and coordinating volunteers is Greater Philadelphia Cares.
Nationally and internationally, organizations such as Volunteer Match and Idealist.org also post opportunites for volunteers.
