The Wordsworth CUA engages families and communities in raising safe, healthy and productive children through a strong network of resources, supports and services that strengthen individual, family and community protective factors.

The Philadelphia Department of Human Services’ (DHS) Improving Outcomes for Children (IOC) initiative is a broad multi-year reform plan aimed at improving the safety, permanency, and well-being of the children and families served by DHS. Based on the premise that positive outcomes are achieved through child welfare services that are family-centered, community-based, culturally competent, integrated, timely, and accountable for results, IOC is a single case management system, delivered by providers through strong community level partnerships. Wordsworth’s Community Umbrella Agency (CUA) is responsible for the provision of direct case management services to families in two regions of Philadelphia, Region 5 (Police Districts 35 and 39) and Region 10 (Police Districts 16 and 19).
