Plan, Start, and Run

Everything you might need to know about running a business in Philadelphia

The Business Services Center Website can provide you with the information your business needs to thrive. The site offers links to organizations that help business planning and financial planning by teaching how to create a business plan or a financial plan.

But if you’d like to talk to a Business Services Representative during business hours, we are here to help.

The Office of Business Services (OBS) in the Department of Commerce stands ready to help your business with a wide range of issues, from navigating permitting processes to identifying loan and grant programs for which you might qualify. When you contact OBS for the first time, a business liaison will be assigned to your company - a professional who knows your neighborhood and your industry. Your liaison will be your partner in City government. It is their job to make your job easier. To have a business liaison assigned to your company or to get help with a problem your business is experiencing, please email OBS Client Services or call the OBS Client Services Line Monday – Friday, 9:00 – 5:00 at (215) 683-2100.
