Junior Barber Academy (JBA) is a year-round program geared to youth ages 7 through 21. JBA is currently located at 2213 N. Uber street. The 4-week program teaches participants the history of the barbering profession, the tools used to cut hair, cutting/styling hair, and the business of running a barbershop. The things participants learn in a JBA can be a catalyst to developing a lucrative career as a barber. To enrich the program experience JBA invites members to take part in workshops as well as host guest speakers from the community to elaborate on the barbering profession. In addition to teaching youth a skill that they can make money from for a lifetime Junior Barber Academy links youth with mentors to guide them through their professional and social growth.
