LEADERSHIP Philadelphia, founded in 1959, is a non-profit organization that mobilizes and connects the talent of the private sector to serve the community. (History)

The Core Program Experience

The Core Program consists of eleven day-long seminar sessions from September through June. Meetings generally consist of half-day immersion in a civic topic, followed by an afternoon of leadership development or trustee skills development training. Participants receive individual skills development feedback.

Qualified candidates are seasoned individuals with leadership skills and a drive to take responsibility for improving the quality of life in the region. Admission is competitive. Tuition for the 2016-2017 program year is $8,000. (More)

Connectors and Keepers

For the past ten years, LEADERSHIP Philadelphia has led a pioneering civic effort to identify Connectors – a term created by Malcolm Gladwell in The Tipping Point to describe trusted citizens who seem to know everyone and can be counted on to get things done, often under the radar. In order to keep young professionals here, we need to cultivate and connect them to create lasting ties. To that end, we asked citizens to help identify Philadelphia’s most promising and impactful young people – the “keepers.” (More)
