The School of the Stars

The mission of South Philadelphia High School is to create a community school in which our students are supported through academics, Career and Technical (CTE) programs, sports, clubs and outside providers to successfully graduate from high school. Our students will master academic skills and earn vocational certifications which will enable them to pursue post-secondary education, employment, or military careers. Our ultimate goal is to graduate productive and engaged citizens who contribute in a positive way to society.

Our comprehensive CTE programs, including Commercial and Advertising Art, Computer Technology, Culinary, Engineering Technologies and Health Professions and Related Clinical Sciences, emphasize employability, technological skills and transition-to-work services. Our award winning JROTC program prepares our students for military careers through self-discipline and leadership training. Our sports program promotes teamwork and the health and wellbeing of our students. Clubs and electives promote cultural awareness, creating well rounded individuals. Our academic instruction is driven by current research and the changing paradigm of education. Graduates of South Philadelphia High School will enter the world as competitive, well rounded citizens.
