In a 2015 study of 200 of them, nearly 90% either ran out of food or had to provide less to those in need at some point during the year. Food Connect bridges the gap between surplus food and hunger by transporting excess food from large events and from restaurants in Philadelphia to area food banks, pantries and emergency meal providers.</blockquote>
