'''Creative Philadelphia'''.
The City of Philadelphia first established an Office of Arts and Culture by Mayor Wilson W. Goode in 1984 as part of the Office of the City Representative. The Office operated in this manner, led by the Deputy City Representative for the Office of Arts and Culture, from 1986 until it was closed by Mayor John F. Street in 2004. It was reinstated as a separate, independent Office of Arts, Culture and the Creative Economy by Mayor Michael Nutter in 2008. In 2016, during Mayor James F. Kenney’s administration, the Office of Arts, Culture and the Creative Economy was moved as a stand-alone office into the Managing Director’s Office to better incorporate the arts into Philadelphia’s communities and neighborhoods. In 2020 the Office of Arts, Culture and the Creative Economy became a program of the Managing Director’s Office. Under the Mayor Cherelle L. Parker administration, as of 2024, the office is now part of the Office of the Mayor and known as '''Creative Philadelphia'''.
