Our Practice:

We create new models for delivery of services such as research, entrepreneurship, education and business support services. Starting from our vision, we identify needs, talk with businesses and listen to their input, and together design ways to meet those needs. We are committed to the dissemination and replication of the effective new models that we create.

Stan (a member of SBM) offers these comments after attending the annual meeting in January, 2014

  • We should have a mentorship program that matches members with start up companies and students.
  • We also should have an ombudsman function to help mediate between members and government and business organizations.
  • We should have a staff person who surveys members for skills and resources beyond the services and products a member advertises so that additional matchmaking of skills, resources and interests can be facilitated.
