Hawthorne Cultural Center gives the following descriptive information:
Located at the corner of 12th St and Carpenter St, the Hawthorne Cultural Center is a City Recreation Center specializing in art, dance, theater and other cultural programs in addition to a broad range of activities for adults and children.

The 2014 Spring schedule looked like this:
KIDS
- Tumbling, Wednesdays, 4:00-7:00pm, ask about ages
- Intro to Dance, Thursdays 4:00-7:00pm, ask about ages
- Pottery, Tuesdays 4:00-5:30pm
- Mexican Folk Dance, Fridays, 5:00-7:00pm
- Wushu Gong Fu, Wednesdays 6:00-7:15pm, and Saturdays 11:00-12:15pm
- Grappling, Thursdays & Fridays 7:00-9:00pm, Saturdays 3:00-5:00pm (Mixed with adults)
- Summer Camp, Monday-Friday 9:00am-3:00pm, starting July 7th

- Salsa, Thursdays 7:00-9:00pm
- Dunham Dance, Mondays 7:00-8:30pm
- Wu Shu Gong Fu (Adult & Teen), Mondays and Thursdays 6:30-8:30PM
