When the subject (organization, company, or individual) of one of our pages closes permanently or otherwise goes offline, we don't want them to disappear completely. They've passed into history, and you never know which subject will become an important part of history. So, we keep them all by marking them "Is-Past". We want to always acknowledge the difference they made, while at the same time we want to help people who would rather stick to current information.
