The Salvation Army Kroc Community Center in Philadelphia is one of 26 State-of-the-Art Community Centers across the country largely underwritten by sizable donations by Ray and Joan Kroc. Joan Kroc saw there were communities that were in desperate need of a safe gathering place, a place with facilities and trained professionals to nurture children’s social skills, arts appreciation and athletic potential. She described The Kroc Center as being a beacon of light and hope in the community.

The Kroc Community Centers provide children and families with opportunities to discover and develop their passions and talents within their own neighborhood.
