Founded in 1932 by Philadelphia philanthropist Samuel S. Fels and District Attorney Charles Edwin Fox as Crime Prevention Association, the original mission of the organization was to provide productive activities for Philadelphia’s young men who were unemployed during the Great Depression. While our services have greatly expanded since those early days, we have stayed true to the founding vision of providing services to assure that Philadelphia’s youth have the support and resources they need to develop into productive citizens. In 2001, we changed our name to Caring People Alliance to more accurately reflect the current scope of our programs and services.

Caring People Alliance, an affiliate of the Boys &amp; Girls Clubs of America, is one of the Philadelphia region's most comprehensive human service agencies. Our primary focus is on children and youth and the matters that most affect them. As such, we also nurture their support system - both families and older adults. We offer a wide range of programs and services through our three Community Centers, Family and Parenting Services, Treatment Foster Care, and Child Care Quality and Information Services. Caring People Alliance serves an estimated 11,000 individuals and another 500 families each year through our three community centers, and an additional 25,000 members of the community through Child Care Information Services.<br>
