When the subject (organization, company, or individual) of one of our pages closes permanently or otherwise goes offline, we don't want them to disappear completely. They've passed into history, but you never know which subject will become an important part of history. So, we keep them all by marking them "Is-Past". You could call it our version of "Places That Aren't There Anymore".
